Lake Buena Vista, FLLondon Chow has been named the AAU Beach Volleyball Female Player of the Year for 2011.  In 2011,Chow won two of three majors—a gold medal at the AAU JuniorOlympic Games in New Orleans and AAU Best ofthe Beach, and silver medal at the AAU National Championships,each event with a different partner.

Although, she did not completethe triple crown by winning all three majors in the same season,she did win Nationals before. Chow was also a gold medalist inher weight class in powerlifting at the 2011 AAU Junior OlympicGames in New Orleans, She won the powerlifting gold medal the morning and turned around a took home the gold in beach volleyball.Chow is the only athlete to win gold in both the AAU Junior Olympic Games Beach Volleyball and Powerlifiting events in the same weekend in 2011.

Chow’s partner at the 2011 AAU Nationals was Makayla Taylor (Downey, CA). At the 2011 AAU Junior Olympic Games, she partnered with Zana Muno (Hermosa Beach, CA), the 2012 triple crown champion, and at 2011 Best of the Beach, she teamed up with Sara Hughes, who has represented the USA in three FIVB Junior and Youth World Championships.

London Chow has competed in about 30 beach tournaments in her age group since she began playing in the summer of 2009. Chow has stood on the podium in each and every event except one and garners 17 first place finishes. What an outstanding accomplishment!

In 2011, Chow competed in 10 tournaments with seven (7) different partners and had six (6) first place, two (2) second place and two (2) third places finishes.  One of these events included a CBVA women’s “A” tournament, which she won and acquired her womens “AA” rating.  Other top honors include: the USPA (United States Powerlifting Association) 2011 National Champion, two USPA American records, and she was the 2012 Kauai Bikini Ambassador.

The AAU congratulates London Chow on her outstanding accomplishments. We can’t wait to see where she’ll go from here.
